EVP response to my greeting

I was greeting my ghostly guests as I often do and as I’m walking in, a familiar “huff” or “woof” sound can be heard as I’m going into the house. However, I did not hear it in real time.
This is a sound I’ve documented numerous times both inside my house and outside. I call the entity, the “Curmudgeon” because he’s a grumpy old spirit who hangs around my garage and likes to tease my dogs (also documented). An egg customer actually got a picture of what looks to be an old man in my garage window when there hasn’t been anyone up there in years. She has since, stopped coming due to her beliefs.
