Inn at the Falls
Profile
The “Main Inn” house of Inn at the Falls was built in 1870 and purchased by a local Judge named William Crosby Mahaffy.
While visiting his home in England, he is said to have passed away due to medical complications. However, he was reportedly seen in his pub, and to this day people report smelling his cigar smoke in the now parlor.
In the 1930s, the building, which had been long neglected, was purchase by a man by the name of Kirk and his pregnant wife in hopes to convert it into an inn.
One night, Mrs. Kirk began walking around the house. She fell down the stairs, and she sadly passed, as well as their unborn child. She is said to have been seen in the inn since, wandering the halls.
Throughout the years, and after many different owners, there have been many more deaths within these walls and many spirits are known to reside within the building.
The inn is still open to the public, and is a nice stay in the town of Bracebridge. The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to discuss the possibility of the haunting and strange happenings.
